DESCRIPTION:ACTION REQUIRED: Register your club attendance at this link! \nEastern Division COT is going to be held on the 22nd July 2018 at Griffith University (Nathan Campus). \nWhat’s COT?\nClub Officer Training (COT) is held every six months in each Toastmasters Division. It is a day of training for club leaders and members in every club officer role as well as other valuable sessions presented by experienced and enthusiastic members. Attendance is strongly encouraged for all club officers. \nAs a club President\, you set the standard for your club. Please make the effort to attend and encourage your team to also come along. \nWhy Should I Go?\nYou will get full training in your role with the other 29 clubs across the division. There are also extra sessions designed to benefit each club and member. There will be plenty of opportunity to network\, meet members from other clubs and make some great connections with others who are doing the same role in their club. COT is highly recommended by experienced Toastmasters and we are making every effort for the day to be fun\, valuable and high energy. \nInvesting this day into training will save many headaches over the year. \nWhen is it?\n22nd July 2018. The day starts at 9am (register from 830) and will wrap up at 4. \nWhere is it?\nGriffith University\, Nathan Campus. The room is called Macrossan (N16)\, there is a map attached to this email\, BUT you can also just use Google Maps\, if you zoom in you will see a map of the campus. You can literally GPS to the room. Or follow the Toastmasters signs on the day. Or ask someone. Or turn up on time and follow someone with a Toastmasters badge. If you’re not lost\, please wear your badge for the less-directionally-gifted among us. \nHow Much is it and What do I get?\n$5 per person\, and this gets you a full day of training\, plus morning and afternoon tea\, lunch and tea/coffee. I will admit\, the coffee is Moccona’s finest\, so if you’re a coffee snob\, maybe go via a café on the way in. \nWe’ll be taking cash or card on the day. \nWhat happens on the day?\nThe program begins at 9am sharp\, and there’s a mix of training sessions. First up is some higher-level Toastmasters International training\, helpful for the bigger picture\, then we split into separate rooms to get some training specific to your role. The trainers are all highly experienced in their roles and there will be opportunity to ask questions and learn where to go should you need guidance through the year. \nAfter that is other educational sessions that you can choose depending on your interest. This is things such as learning how to set up your club’s website\, to learning some great speech contest tips. Check out the attached agenda for specifics. \nWe’ll finish up by 4pm. \nWhat should I bring?\nIt’s very important that you bring ALL of these things: \n\nYour badge\nPen & paper\nClub Leadership Handbook (you should have been given one when you were inducted into your role)\nA water bottle. Please be environmentally conscious and bring a water bottle to refill.\n\nIs there parking?\nYes! So much parking. And it’s free\, which is of course the best kind of parking. The carpark is called Ridge Car Park (N38) and is about a 300m walk to the room. Again\, see the map. For those that require it\, there is disability parking a bit closer. \nWhat do I do now?\nChase up your club and register as many as you can. It only takes 8 seconds\, there’s no payment info required\, just your name and who’s coming. We need registrations so we can cater correctly\, please.
